Animal Grantmakers is the nation’s only funder affinity group focused on protecting and enabling the well-being of all animals. RegistrationRegistration for the Animal Grantmakers Conference is open to staff, board members, and trustees of current Animal Grantmakers members and peer funders that support the protection and well-being of animals. (A number of non-funder speakers and presenters have been invited. The conference is not open to the general public and is a fundraising-free zone.) If you are a member of Animal Grantmakers, up to two people from your organization can register for free. Additional people from your organization can register at $400 per individual. If you are a funder that is not yet a member of Animal Grantmakers, one person from your organization can register for free (excludes past conference guests, who are welcome to register for $400). Additional people from your organization can register at $400 per individual. All funder participants also may register for one of two concurrent field trips at $50 per individual. One field trip will be to a marine mammal center (includes a nature hike in the Marin Headlands); the other will be to four local organizations serving companion animals. ![]() Location, Hotel Booking & TravelThe San Francisco Bay Area, the site of our 23rd annual gathering, is one of the world’s most beautiful and dynamic places. The Bay Area features everything from serene ocean beaches and waterfront towns to diverse, vibrant neighborhoods and cities; from Victorian architecture to modern arts and culture; from tech innovations in Silicon Valley to award-winning vineyards in Wine Country; from world-class colleges and universities to the stunning outdoors—mountains, woods, redwood groves, islands, and national, state and local parks. The Bay Area is also an animal lovers’ paradise, home to highly respected animal welfare and rescue organizations, and wildlife sanctuaries. It’s one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the country, with cutting-edge businesses developing plant-based foods. The conference will be held at the Residence Inn in Berkeley, California—a brand-new hotel in downtown Berkeley, right next to the University of California, Berkeley campus. Book online or call 888-236-2427 and ask for the Animal Grantmakers 2022 Conference room block to get the special group rate of $254 (plus taxes) per night for a standard guest room. Room block closes on Friday, September 30, 2022. Check-in time: 3 p.m.; Parking fees: $49 for daily valet; The Residence Inn is accessible by car, ride-sharing services and bus from all three of the Bay Area’s major international airports—Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose. (The hotel does not provide shuttle service.) BART, the Bay Area’s rapid-transit rail system, is a great option if you’re flying in and out of the Oakland or San Francisco International airports. There are several BART stations close to the Residence Inn; in fact, the Downtown Berkeley Station is just a block away from the hotel. |
